All about Ah Beng. Enjoy!!

Ah Beng : Doctor, in my dreams, I play football every night.
DR: Take this tablet, you will be ok.
Ah Beng : Can I take tomorrow, tonight is final game

Ah Beng : People consider me as a "GOD"
Wife: How do you know??
Ah Beng : When I went to the Park today, everybody said,Oh GOD! U have come again

Ah Beng comes back 2 his car & find a note saying "Parking Fine"
He Writes a note and sticks it to a pole "Thanks for compliment."

Once Ah Beng was walking he had a glove on one hand and not on other.
So the man asked him why he did so.
He replied that the weather forecast announced that on one hand it would be cold and on the other hand it wouldbe hot.

A man asked Ah Beng why Ahmad Badawi goes walking in the Evening and not in the morning Ah Beng replied Ahmad Badawi is PM not AM

Distorted Message on the Parable of Ten Virgins

A pastor from Taiwan preached a sermon on the parable of Ten Virgin. Instead of explaining about the truth of this parable he distorted the meaning of this passage. The passage warns Christians to keep alert because we do not know the day or the hour when Christ is coming again. Thus, we should be well prepared for this Groom (Christ). However, this pastor distorted the meaning of the oil in the parable as gold dust. He was selecting only the 'oil' to create his own doctrine on 'gold dust'. He claimed that gold dust is the latest trend God used to revive the church. Thus, we should act like the wise virgin keep asking for gold dust for revival! What???!! O_o
Maybe I do not really do much research on the growth of charismatic movement but this is the first time i heard on this kind of philosophy. The most ridiculous thing is the question on why we need the gold dust. If I am not mistaken, according to chinese tradition the groom will need to pay the bride an amount of money before they got married and this is called “聘金". The so-called pastor answered that we need gold dust because since Christ is coming to marry the bride (Church) surely the groom needs to give the bride the gold dust as the "聘金". If not, how can they get married?
Huh!!??? Boink!
This kind of explanation really surprised me!! How can people still believe on this nonsense sermon which distorted the whole passage?

Matthew 7:21-23 (NIV)
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I(Jesus) will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

Grrrrhhhh....

Grrhhhh....I dont like the feeling that I am having right now. I just feel moody and dont really know how to describe the complete feeling. Everything looks so gray and I just dont feel like doing anything. No working, no talking, no smiling, no walking here and there. It would be great if I can jump into a pool right now to have an exhaustive swim before taking a good meal.
Boo! day dreaming...

Lil Question on Atonement

Am pondering on the question on atonement.
I was reading a mandarin christian book on atonement and it strucked me that the writer explained that the crucifixion of Jesus Christ is not for everyone in the world but to the selected people who have been predestined to be saved even before the world being created.
All this while I have been believing that John3:16 'For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life' proves that Christ's death as atonement is for everyone in the world. However, I came to understand that this verse is actually continued by saying that the salvation is for those who believe. After understand a little bit more on the doctrine of predestination we came to understand more on God's authority. Christians have been called by name before the world began. Thus, it is logical that the atonement for sins is only meant for christians but not everyone. Our sins will be cleansed when God forgive our trespasses. If the atonement is for un-predestined human as well then it is useless for us to commit our sins as it will be forgiven regardless on whether we admit we are sinners or not!! sweat!!

A Visit to the doctor

I went to a clinic after work yesterday. Initially was thinking of consulting Dr. Koay who is specialised in sports injuries but the clinic was closed when i reached there. I then directed to the clinic a few shops away to consult this Dr. Ko Ko Win. As weird as the name might sound, the doctor only said four sentences and expected me to pay him RM30. The first thing he questioned:" What happened to you?". I answered:" I am having lower back pain". "Where is the pain, centre or side?". "Center", I replied. The third sentence was " Do you have gastric pain?" and the last sentence was "Ok, i will prescribe to you two types of medicines." *sweat*
He paused for a long period of time and expecting me to just walk out and pay the RM30. Unsatisfied with this kind of consultation i was hesitated to go off so I continued by asking him for a few more questions for him to explain in more details before heading off to get my medicines.
Doubting on his expertise, I then searched the world wide web to get some information on the drugs he prescribed. The anticid is actually to protect the stomach, so nothing much to say about it. The other drug that he prescribed was Voltaren. This drug is NSAID drug to relieve inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain which comes with many side effects. More common side effects are abdominal bleeding, abnorminal pain or cramps, swelling, anemia, blood clotting problems, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, fluid retention, headache, heartburn, peptic ulcers, rash, vomiting and so forth. With this kind of information given, I would prefer to let it cure naturally with some oilments instead of taking this drug. At the end of the day, it's a waste of RM30 to learn some information on the drug prescribed.

Family Doctor Dot Org

Just browsing through internet and came to this page where you can diagnose your medical problems by going through a whole lot of questions on the symptoms.
Below is the list of questions I went through to diagnose the problem on my lower back pain.
Question 1: Did the pain begin after lifting heavy stuffs or due to injury?
Answer : Yes
Question 2: Do you feel numbness or pain extending to the legs?
Answer: Yes
The Diagnosis is " You may have suffered from Herniated Disk!!" O_o

Herniated Disk happened when a disk between two bones in the spine presses on the nerves around the backbone. It is usually happened on the lumbar spines

What can be done to diminish the pain?
The common conservative treatment is to rest and followed by slow mobilisation. Taking pain medication, chiropractic and osteopathic manipulation or physical therapy might diminish the pain. If the symptoms exist, surgery might be needed to decompress the nerve.

SPRAIN...

What a bad day yesterday. As usual I went to church in the morning for Sunday service. But who knows I sprained my back even before the sunday service started. It happened in an ordinary way and without much actions to be described. Can't deny that I am getting old now!! I just bent forward. That's it. My back started to feel the pain and both the back of my legs started to feel numb. I then applied the medication plaster bought from the supermarket downstairs. But unfortunately until now the pain still have not subside after one day. I might go to consult a doctor after work today if it is still painful.
Some people told me to go to the traditional chinese massage but somehow I feel it is a bit risky to try out... coz I never try before and not sure if it really works...

Am I Looking younger than my actual age?

Haha...yesterday my colleague was asking how old am I. She is 20 years old and she thought that I am younger than her....can you imagine?? hahaha... I am not sure if she looks more mature than her actual age or I look more kiddie than my age. But somehow I am happy to hear such a comment that I still look young....as long as what she meant was my outlook instead of my thinking and mindset.

Indonesian Layer Cake ( Specot / Spekkoek)

I used to bake layer cake a few times last time as it is one of my favourite food. If you do not know what is Indonesian layer cake, here it is.

The ingredients are as below

450g butter
275g fine castor sugar
1tsp vanilla essence
1tbsp brandy
20 egg yolks
10 egg whites
85g fine castor sugar
225g superfine flour
½ tsp baking powder
2 ½ tsp mixed spices

1. Line and grease the base of a 23cm (square) loose-bottomed tin. Preheat oven to 180 C.
2. Sift flour, baking powder and mixed spices into a bowl then divide into three equal portions.
3. Beat egg yolks until creamy with a hand-held electric mixer.
4. Cream butter, sugar and vanilla essence until light. Add brandy and continue to cream until fluffy.
5 Fold in sifted dry ingredients in three batches, one-third at a time. Mix well with a metal spoon.
6. Whisk egg whites with sugar until stiff. Fold meringue into the creamed mixture until well-combined.
7. Spoon 4 tablespoons mixture into prepared tin and spread evenly. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes or till golden brown. Remove cake tin from oven and turn off the oven. Heat up the grill.
8.Brush each layer of the cake with a little melted butter. Use a skewer to prick the bubbles on the surface of the cake then press lightly with the flat bottom of a glass container. Continue in this manner until all the batter is used up.
9. Spoon 3 tablespoons of mixture over the first layer and spread evenly. Grill at 220 Celsius for 2 to 3 minutes or till brown. Repeat layer after layer till all the mixture is used up.
10. For the final layer, preheat oven at 150 Celsius and bake the entire cake for about 20minutes or until golden brown.
11. Leave cake in tin for a while before turning out onto a wire rack to cook. Cut the cake only when it is completely cooked.

Please take not that the cake will turn out beautifully only in an oven with two elements- a bottom heating element and a grill element. The flavours will also be enhanced after one or two days.

Try it out if you like to eat layer cake and tell me the result!! Cheers...

Benefits of memorizing scripture

The book 'Desiring God' by John Piper encourages christians to memorize scriptures.
Benefits as below:

1. Comformity to Christ
Bible memorization will make our gaze on Jesus to be steadier and clearer. As 1Sam3:21 said "The Lord revealed himself to Samuel at Shiloh by the word of God".

2. For our daily triumph over Sin
Psalm 119:11 I have stored up your word in my heart that i might not sin against you. The one piece of armor used to kill is also 'the sword of the Spirit' which is the word of God. Eph6:17.

3. Daily Trimph over Satan
When Jesus was tempted by Satan in the wilderness, he recited Scripture from memory and put Satan to fight.

4. To comfort and counsel people whom you love
" A word fitly spolen is like apples of the gold in a setting of silver" Proverbs 25:11.
Blessing will flow from our mouth if we have the heart full of God's love and mind full of God's word.

5. Communicating gospel to the unbelievers
Gospel sums up of God's holiness/ law/ glory, man's sin/rebellion/disobedience, Christ's death for sinners and free gift of life by faith. If we are able to learn a verse or two on each of these we would be ready in season or out of season to share it with the people around.

6. Communion with God in enjoyment of His person and ways
Storing texts in our minds about God helps us relate to Him as He really is.

First Day Working

Today is the first day working in internet lab. It is a temporary job actually. The job itself is super extremely easy as I just need to make sure the students coming into the internet lab are with proper attire. That's it.
I have plenty of time here browsing the internet while enjoying my personal time doing watever things I like. A bit boring but I think this is what I want for the moment in time to slow down the pace and to reflect back on how God has been leading me thus far.
The only thing that I feel unease is about the people here. The first impression I got was not so good. Maybe I am too naive to think that only those in factories will have the so called politics where people stabbing and fighting for their own benefit.

Bible verse for the day
Matthew 6:19-21
19"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
